The 95th birth anniversary of veteran socialist leader late Madhu Limaye on Monday provided the splintered Opposition a chance to put up a show of unity against the BJP-RSS.
Senior leaders Sitaram Yechury (CPM), Digvijaya Singh (Congress), Sharad Yadav (JDU), Atul Anjaan (CPI), D P Tripathi (NCP) and Ajit Singh (RLD) spoke on the need to unite, but stopped short of offering a concrete programme. Yechury highlighted the importance of “secular supervision” at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
