While according to Congress the “age old sedition laws” are to be scrapped, BJP believes in giving free hands to the security forces and a National Register of Citizens in other parts of India.
BJP intends to reward the middle class for their good work, Congress insists on correcting BJP’s previous modifications and bettering the systems currently in place.
While Congress offers a large scale increase healthcare expenditure, BJP promising to open more healthcare centers and medical institutes.
Congress promises free and compulsory education while BJP will continue with their policy of the past five years.
Surprisingly, only Congress discusses climate change and environment, while BJP doesn’t even talk about it.
BJP alots more money to buy weapons, while Congress focuses on the welfare of the Army personnel and their family.
Congress promises reservation for women in Government jobs, while BJP promised cheaper sanitary napkins.
BJP has promised short term loans and a doubling of income for farmers while Congress promised a special budget and a permanent National commission for Agriculture
Congress promises a new ministry and a huge expansion in education and health sectors, while BJP didn’t really talk about jobs
While Congress plans to spend 2% of GDP for this offer, BJP promises a drastic cut down of poverty in 5 years.

Being a vast country that boasts unity in myriad diversities, promising something that makes the majority of the citizens happy is by itself a very intricate task. Creating an election manifesto is one such task every party has to go through during the elections. From making unrealistic claims to heart-felt assurances, election manifestos are filled with promises.

As India is about to decide, whom it really wants to be at its pilot seat for another 5 years, let’s have a look at the main points of the manifestos presented by the two major parties- the BJP and the Indian National Congress.
