A five-year-old mentally challenged boy died after he was beaten up by his father for damaging his mobile phone while playing.
Murshidabad district Superintendent of Police Humayun Kabir said the father, a resident of Kulgachhi village under Raghunathganj police station, was arrested today.Father Piyarul Sheikh, a mason by profession, was angry with his five-year-old mentally challenged son Arif when he damaged his mobile phone while playing with it last night.He beat him up and Arif was injured.
The boy was taken to a hospital where he died, Kabir said.The police arrested Piyarul after his wife lodged a police complaint.
