Governor Hansraj Bhardwaj, who completes his five-year term in Karnataka on Saturday, will bid adieu in the evening.

Official sources said that Bhardwaj will leave for New Delhi after a short farewell guard of honour at 3:30 pm at the Raj Bhavan.

Seventy-seven-year-old Bhardwaj, who was the law minister in UPA-I government, took charge as governor on June 29, 2009.

According to a Raj Bhavan communique, Rosaiah would arrive in Bangalore on Saturday around 9:05 pm. He would assume office after being sworn-in at 9 am on Sunday.

He will return to Chennai around 11:20 am in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city on the same day.

President Mukherjee has appointed Vakkom Purushothaman, governor of Mizoram, as in-charge governor of Tripura, till a new governor is named.

Tripura Governor Devanand Konwar completes his term on Saturday.
