BJP MP dubs JNU 'hub of terrorists'

Controversial BJP Lok Sabha member Sakshi Maharaj on Tuesday demanded immediate closure of JNU saying that varsity had turned into a “hub of terrorists” and “anti-national elements”.

The saffron party MP also sought action against Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, CPI leader D Raja and CPM Rajya Sabha member Sitaram Yechury for “extending support” to those, who had raised “anti-India” and “pro-Pakistan” slogans ar JNU campus.

“Anti-national elements must be dealt with sternly...they must be crushed...we can not allow such activities in the name of intellectual freedom”', Sakshi Maharaj said.

“JNU has turned into a hub of ant-nationals and terrorists...I urge our government to immediately close the varsity,” he added. The MP, who had been in controversy earlier also owing to his remarks, said that the BJP would have to “fight intellectual terrorism” on an “ideological level”. 

He also demanded that action be taken against the politicians, who had supported the “anti-nationals”.
