Two days before the Jammu and Kashmir governor has called leaders of both the coalition parties for separate meeting, the BJP reiterated its position that it has not accepted any new condition from the PDP during the meeting of Mehbooba Mufi and Narendra Modi.

This despite the fact that Mehbooba had said that she was “satisfied” with her meeting with Modi and the outcome of raising people’s issues were “positive”.

BJP’s pointsman Ram Madhav in an interview to a newspaper emphasised that the party did not concede anything new and that nothing has changed since the two parties got together to form the government in J&K on the basis of common minimum programme with Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as the chief minister.

He, interestingly, pointed out that government formation discussion doesn’t take place in meeting and that the issue will be sorted out at the party level. He also told that if at all new issues come up, that can be addressed only when the alliance comes back to power lifting the President’s rule.

The deadline of the J&K Assembly being convened after every six month is ending on April 9. Madhav reiterated the earlier stand on Wednesday but stated that even Mehbooba did not put up fresh issues before Modi.

Mehbooba is meeting her party MLAs in Srinagar on Thursday to discuss the outcome of meeting with the prime minister and decide next course of action on staking claim for occupying power.
