Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the BJP was “scared” of his party’s alliance with the SP in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

“Almost the entire Union cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including himself, has been engaged in campaigning in Uttar Pradesh... this shows it is scared of the alliance,” Rahul said, addressing an election meeting at Palia in Lakhimpur-Kheri district.

Speaking about the alliance, Rahul said it was a “friendship” between two youngsters who wanted to take the state to new heights of development.

He said the alliance would ensure a transparent and efficient government.
