The body of the 45-year-old Pakistani convict, who was killed in Jaipur jail was transported to Wagah border on Friday.

The police confirmed that Shakrullah's body was shifted from the mortuary to the anatomy ward and was later sent to Punjab, where officials will hand it over to Pakistan.

The No Objection Certificate along with the death certificate and copy of post-mortem report will be handed over to Pakistan.

The entire transfer process is being monitored by the Union home ministry.

Earlier four men were arrested on production warrant for inquiry in connection with the murder of a Pakistani prisoner who was allegedly killed in Jaipur Central jail on February 20 by other inmates after a fight over television volume.

They are being interrogated at Lal kothi police station.

Shakrullah was serving a life term.

Jaipur Additional Commissioner Laxman Gaur had said: “Around four prisoners, including the Pakistani inmate, were watching TV when a brawl broke out among them over volume. As the fight escalated, the three convicts bashed Shakrullah's head against a stone.”

According to police, Shakrullah, who hails from Sialkot district of Pakistan, was arrested in 2011 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. In 2017, he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

A day after his death, the National Human Rights Commission had issued a notice to the government of Rajasthan. It had also asked all states and Union Territories to take precautionary measures in jails where Pakistani nationals are lodged.
