Lokayukta sleuths trapped a surveyor attached to the land records assistant director office while accepting a bribe of Rs 2000 and a liquor bottle.

The arrested Madappa had placed a demand for bribe for conducting a survey to fell trees in a plantation. He had allegedly collected a bribe of Rs 15000 from the complainant to conduct the survey and submit a report to the forest department for felling three rose wood trees in a plantation at B Badaga village. Later, he demanded Rs 2,000 and a branded liquor. Saddened by it, the plantation owner filed a complaint to the Lokayukta. The Lokayukta sleuths caught him red handed while accepting a bribe.

The raid was led by Mysuru Lokayukta SP Sureshbabu, DySP M N Pavankumar, Inspector Lokesh.
