In a statement, Vice Chancellor of the Faridabad-based private university, Bhupinder Kaur Anand, said the varsity is "extending its full cooperation" to the investigating authorities to enable them to arrive at a "logical, fair and conclusive determination" in the matter pertaining to national security.

"We are deeply saddened and anguished by the unfortunate developments that took place and condemn the same. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the innocent people affected by these distressing events...We wish to make it clear that the University has no connection with the said persons (accused) apart from them being working in their official capacities with the University," the statement said.

Around 2,900 kg of explosives were recovered from two rented rooms of Dr Muzammil Ganaie in Dhauk and Fatehpur Taga in Faridabad. These premises were not part of the campus. Dr Muzammil as well as Dr Umar Nabi, who is said to have driven an explosive-laden car that exploded near Red Fort on Monday, worked at the university.

The statement expressed "deep concern" over "baseless and misleading stories" on online platforms with "clear intent to maligning the reputation and goodwill" of the university while "categorically denying" all such insinuations.

It "clarified that no such chemical or material as is being alleged by certain platforms is being used, stored or handled within the University premises. The University laboratories are used solely and exclusively for the academic and training requirements of MBBS students and other authorised courses. Every laboratory activity is carried out in strict adherence to established safety protocols, statutory norms and ethical standards mandated by regulatory authorities".

"We also want to make it loud and clear that as a responsible institution, we stand in solidarity with the nation and reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the unity, peace, and security of our country," it said adding, that every effort should be made to ensure that the students continue their education in an atmosphere of peace, normalcy and academic discipline on campus.

The Al-Falah Group manages various institutions since 1997. It received autonomous status in 2009 and university status in 2014. Al-Falah University is managing its medical college since 2019.
