Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday defended West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and accused the BJP of "misusing" CBI to "target" its opponents.
"BJP has destroyed every constitutional institution in the country... it is trying to intimidate its opponents by using the CBI," Akhilesh told reporters here.

He said the credibility of the central investigation agency had already hit a low following the fighting among its own officers.
"The prime minister says that he had been targeted by CBI during the UPA regime... Isn't he doing the same thing?'' the SP leader said.
