Since Daya Shankar’s arrest early last week in Mumbai, lightening searches were carried out simultaneously in Mumbai, Delhi, Ghaziabad and Lucknow. In an official communiqué, CBI stated that a search of the tainted IT officer’s chartered accountant in Lucknow yielded unaccounted cash of Rs 2.01 crore. The accountant told CBI that the money belonged to Daya Shankar.
The searches of documents seized from Daya Shankar’s residence led to the discovery of properties owned by him and his family members.
