The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved a number of schemes, including restructuring of the Swarna Jayanti Shahri Rozgar Yojana (SJSRY) as National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM).
The decisions are aimed at reducing poverty and vulnerability of urban poor.
The NULM, for which Rs 6,405 crore has been earmarked under the 12th Five Year Plan, is for enabling urban poor households to access gainful self-employment and skilled employment opportunities.
