West Bengal government has decided to develop the Tajpur deep-sea port on its own, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters at the State Secretariat late on Wednesday, Banerjee said "Centre has done nothing about it so far. We waited for three years." The State government has a 26:74 % share with the Centre in the project.

State's Finance Minister Amit Mitra said that the government has appointed a transaction adviser and depending on the report the budget for the deep sea port in West Medinipur district will be finalised.

"We issued a notification in this regard last month," said Mitra.
