A local court on Thursday framed charges against V K Sasikala's nephew TTV Dhinakaran in a Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA) case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in 2001.

Dhinakaran, who appeared before the court, denied all the charges against him after Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate S Malarmathy read out the matter.

The court had already framed charges in a money laundering and benami transactions case against Dhinakaran. The court also confirmed the penalty of Rs 25 crores imposed on him by the ED.

However, charges are yet to framed against Dinakaran, who was also booked under FERA after huge sums of money were deposited into his bank account between 1991 and 1996, during the tenure of Jayalalithaa's first term as chief minister. The magistrate posted the case to June 22 for further hearing.
