Cricketing ties with Pak questioned

A day after India and Pakistan agreed to resume cricketing ties, snapped post 2008 Mumbai terror attack, BJP MP and former home secretary R K Singh opposed de-hyphenating sports from terrorism.

“..A nation responsible for terrorist attacks shouldn’t be played cricket with,” the Lok Sabha MP from Bihar said.

Though the Modi government has not opened up with Pakistan, primarily because of Islamabad’s inability to rein in militants, it has delinked diplomacy from sports.
