“Basically I think things are really changing (in Tibet)... I am quite optimistic about the present situation there,” the Dalai Lama told media persons here at the sidelines of an interactive session organised by a chamber of commerce.

Stressing the need for transparency with regard to outflow of information about Tibet to the external world, the exiled leader said: “I have a strong feeling that transparency is very much crucial and essential. Besides, the Chinese people also have the right to know the reality.”

The Chinese intellectuals too, he claimed, were gradually becoming more supportive of the cause of Tibet.
