New Delhi: In less than 40 days after a blast took place near a CRPF school, a low intensity blast occurred in Prashant Vihar here for the second time on Thursday with the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP alleging that Delhi has become the "most unsafe capital in the world".
The driver of a three-wheeler sustained minor injuries in the incident which took place just before noon in Prashant Vihar in Rohini, days after a suspicious blast took place near a CRPF school in the same locality.
"At 11:47 AM, a call was received regarding an explosion and crowd in front of Bansiwala sweet, Prashant Vihar. Upon receiving the call Local Police, FSL Team, Crime Team, Fire Tender and Ambulance instantly reached the spot at PVR Road, Prashant Vihar," a Delhi Police statement said.
"It was found that a very mild intensity explosion occurred near the wall of a small park. One individual suffered minor abrasion. He was instantly taken to the BSA Hospital from where he was immediately discharged after receiving First Aid. Legal action is being taken accordingly," it added.
A similar incident took place on October 20 when a low intensity blast took place near the CRPF school in Prashant Vihar in which the boundary wall and some vehicles were damaged. Police said it is early to link both the blast and they are investigating all aspects.
Delhi Chief Minister Atishi claimed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has one job but today there are extortion calls, shots fired within 5-10 km radius of the Home Minister's residence.
"Now, there are bomb blasts also. Today, Delhi is becoming like Mumbai from the '90s when it was dominated by the underworld," she claimed.
Kejriwal claimed that the law and order situation in Delhi is "getting worse" and crimes have been increasing for the last 1-1.5 years.
"Traders are getting extortion calls and cases of murders and molestation are rising... After many years, gang wars are being seen in Delhi...Today, people say Delhi is the most unsafe capital in the world," he added.
