After BSP supremo Mayawati, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav sought to target the Centre for increasing the price of non-subsidised LPG cylinder.

Addressing an election meeting in Azamgarh, the Lok Sabha constituency of her father-in-law and SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav, on Thursday, Dimple said the BJP was not bothered about the welfare of the poor, but was only interested in protecting the interests of the rich.

“After the prime minister’s Mann Ki Baat, LPG prices were increased,” the SP’s star campaigner said. Dimple also launched a veiled attack on Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah and said the people of the state would send them back to Gujarat after the Assembly polls.

She said both Akhilesh and Netaji (Mulayam) had close relationship with the people of Azamgarh. Mayawati had on Wednesday said the BJP had accepted its defeat in the polls and cited the hike in LPG prices as an indication to this effect.
