Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday cautioned workers against complacency and stressed on the need to re-invent the party in changing times.

In brief remarks at the office bearers’ meeting ahead of the National Executive, Modi said the party should not think that the Opposition was weak.

In Uttar Pradesh, the Bhartiya Janata Party is pitted against regional rivals Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party for next year’s Assembly elections.

The Congress, which has been out of power in Uttar Pradesh for nearly three decades, too, is eyeing a comeback and hired poll strategist Prashant Kishor to turn around its fortunes.

Modi also wanted 11 crore Bharatiya Janata Party members to be involved in propagating the achievements of the NDA government and build up momentum for the Lok Sabha elections of 2019.
