True to its techno-savvy image, the Andhra Pradesh government is deploying drones to help pilgrims at the 12-day Krishna Pushkaram at the bathing ghats, besides for sanitation and surveillance.

Armed with 18 drone cameras that could be launched in minutes, the police can provide  live-feed from the ghats for nearly 20 to 30 minutes. The feed goes to the main control room from where officials are able to provide timely information to the ground staff to manage crowd.

Drones are also deployed to manage traffic – much to the relief of the pilgrims- at Srisailam in Kurnool district, Amaravathi in Guntur district, Yadadri, Mutyala, and Sanghameswaram Ghats in Ibrahimpatnam circle.
