DVAC officials, who were armed with an order from the Principal District and Sessions Judge, said they had sought the order following information that the former minister had amassed wealth disproportionate to his income.

The premises of Nehru at Thillainagar here and the office and house of his brother K N Ramajeyam were raided.

The team also raided the office and house of Ramajeyam's brother-in-law, and a house of another of the former Minister's relative at Tiruvanaikoil.

Nehru was arrested on August 25 in the case registered on a complaint by Dr Srinivasan of Thuraiyur that he, along with 10 others, had grabbed his vacant land measuring about 13,290 sq ft in Tiruchirappalli.

He has been lodged in the Central Prison in Cuddalore district.
