Five members of a family were found dead in their house in north-east Delhi on Wednesday with police saying the bodies were highly decomposed.
The deceased has been identified as Shambhunath (43), his wife Sunita (38) and their three children Shivam (18), Kavita (16) and Sachin (14).
The incident, which was reported from Bhajanpura, came to light when neighbours informed the police at around 11:30 AM after finding out that they have not seen them in the past few days. The gate was locked from inside.
Police broke open the door and found the five highly decomposed bodies. Initial investigations suggested that the bodies might be four to five days old.
The cause of death will be ascertained after post-mortem of the bodies. No suicide note has been recovered, the police said.
