The boy, whose mother was undergoing imprisonment for similar charges, was picked up by police in Annur near here while he was taking meals at school on Wednesday. He was brought to the city and produced before the juvenile court magistrate, Satyamurthy, seeking his remand to juvenile home, police said on Friday.
Seeing the minor, the magistrate asked the police to produce the birth certificate as age proof and asked them to bring the boy the next day along with it.
