The national capital experienced a chilly Friday with the maximum temperature four notches below the seaon's average at 17 degrees Celsius while a foggy morning affected movement of over 60 trains. Similar weather is likely Saturday, the Met Office said.

According to an official of Northern Railway, 31 trains coming to the city were delayed while 30 trains departing from Delhi had to be recheduled and four had to be cancelled due to dense fog.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast the weather to remain similar Saturday with no repite from the dense fog.

"There will dense fog tomorrow (Saturday) morning and the day would be sunny. Mist will return in the evening," the IMD official said.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 17 and 6 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperature Friday was recorded at 6.3 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.

The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 97 percent. Thursday's maximum temperature went six notches below the season's average at 16 degrees Celsius while the minimum was six degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
