Coordinated searches carried out by the CBI in Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Noida in Uttar Pradesh have led to the “recovery of incriminating documents”, the agency said, adding “more searches are under way.”
In Delhi, the CBI raided eight places including Radia’s office Vaishnavi Communications and her South Delhi residence.
In simultaneous raids, the CBI searched the East Delhi residential premises of Baijal who retired as TRAI Chairman in 2006 and soon after joined one of three public relations companies floated by Radia.
On December 8, the investigating agency had raided the premises of former telecom minister A Raja, his close aides and four former telecom officials in Delhi and Chennai. The CBI raids on Wednesday are a follow up to the findings of the last searches, said sources.
