Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) chairman Gajendra Chouhan on Sunday said the ongoing students protests that many of the university campuses were facing today was “mixed” with politics.

Chouhan, who faced over four month long students protest against his appointment as the FTII chairman, also attacked Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who had supported the students’ stir against him last year, asking what have they done for the development of the film institute.

He also attacked Yogendra Yadav, a former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, for supporting the students of FTII.

“If you see, there is a mild rage among students across the country. But it is only in certain groups. For instance, if a group of 50 students in an institute or university exhibit such behaviour it is not that all students there are involved in it. Why don't the others participate? It shows that there is a certain amount of politics mixed in this," he told reporters.
