"We will look into the maintenance related issues at the Games Village... look into the contracts between parties responsible for construction related works and who could be held responsible for hygiene and unpreparedness of the flats even weeks before the games," a top CAG official said.
The statutory auditor is slated to take up the auditing of the village towards the end of this week.Weeks before the opening of the game, the organisers were caught in an embarrassing situation with pictures of dirty toilets, dogs littering in the rooms and inoperational lifts appeared in the media.
So much so, that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked the Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit to take charge and ensure preparedness before the games amid reports that England, Scotland and New Zealand had found the habitat unlivable along with the threat of pullout.
Under attack, the builder Emmar MGF has claimed that it had done everything under contractual obligation and given the flats to the authorities, which in turned levelled counter charges.
However, the Central government has asked the DDA to confiscate the bank guarantee of Rs 183 crore of the developer.
So far CAG has completed audit of the project till April, a time when the developers claimed that they had started the process of handing over of the flats which continued till August.
The CAG in its earlier report on CWG Village in May had pointed out that the builder Emaar MGF was given a bailout package of over Rs 760 crore by the DDA.
The bail out package was provided by DDA which purchased 333 flats from Emaar-MGF. The package was said to have been worked out by the Delhi's LG, who is the chairman of the DDA, and was cleared by the Centre.
