Nearly two and a half decades after he pioneered the country’s telecom revolution, Sam Pitroda on Tuesday went on Twitter to lead the United Progressive Alliance’s publicity blitzkrieg and held the government’s first-ever press-conference on the social media.
Pitroda, now an advisor to the prime minister on Public Information, Infrastructure and Innovation, interacted with mediapersons on “Democratization of Information” – a theme that was at the core of the Congress-led coalition’s agenda for transparency during its first term in power.
