Amid reports of a Delhi girl "planning" to join the 'Islamic State', Government on Monday said it is closely monitoring activities related to the terror outfit in the country and taking necessary action.

The government is closely watching the developments, as the UAE had recently deported over half-a-dozen Indian youths suspected to have links with the IS.

"The matter is closely being watched by the concerned agencies. Whenever required, action will be taken. We will take action at an appropriate time," Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju told reporters.

Asked about reports of a Delhi girl planning to join ISIS, he said government has taken note of the issue.

"We have taken note of it. The agencies have taken certain action and I believe those are right action," he said. It was reported that the girl, who graduated from Delhi University, was in Australia for higher studies when she got "influenced" by the IS ideology.
