Ahmedabad: At least nine army personnel sustained injuries after their military truck they were traveling in overturned in Saputara in Dang district of south Gujarat. Police said that soldiers were on their way to Jodhpur from Nashik.
Local police said three persons were critical who all were rushed to the civil hospital in Ahwa, the district headquarters. The accident occurred between the Saputara–Shamgahan Ghat road in the hilly terrain.
Police said that the army convoy was on their way to Jodhpur in Rajasthan from Nashik in Maharashtra. The exact cause of the accident was not yet known, police sources added that the driver lost control in the hilly stretch.
The army truck was reportedly carrying an army cannon and other defence equipment.
The locals who saw the accident informed the medical emergency service, 108, which rushed the army personnel to a nearby medical centre. Later, they were shifted to Ahwa civil hospital.
