Madras High Court on Tuesday ordered Tamil Nadu police to arrest retired IAS officer D Vivekanandan and his son in a job racket case.

When the case came up for hearing, Justice P N Prakash noted that a non-bailable warrant (NBW) issued by a city court is pending and non-executed.

"It appears there is some pressure on the police from serving bureaucrats lobby to torpedo the main case itself", the Judge said.

Police could not execute the NBW since the accused did not appear before the court here that issued it, the judge said ordering the warrant to be executed immediately.

In his petition, A Ganapathy, a victim of the job racket, urged the court to direct police to execute the warrant and arrest the ex-bureaucrat and his son. The judge asked the police to submit a report on the case on July 13.
