Heavy rain lashed Mumbai Metropolitan Region on Monday evening disrupting and delaying road and rail traffic and waterlogging several places.

When reports last came in, there was waterlogging in parts of Sion, Maheshwari Udyan, Parel, Andheri and Jogeshwari.

In Thane district, waterlogging was reported from parts of Thane city and Kalyan. In Palghar district, there was waterlogging in areas of Vasai and Nalasopara.

The Western Railway was running 10 to 15 minutes late while the Central Railway reported delays of 15 to 20 minutes.

The IMD’s regional weather office in Mumbai has forecast heavy to very heavy rain for the next two to three days for the entire Konkan coast.
