Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren Tuesday met Governor Syed Ahmed and staked his claim to form a government in Jharkhand, party sources said.

Jharkhand has been under President's rule after the fall of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Arjun Munda government in January, after the JMM pulled out of the coalition.

The Congress party and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have already announced their support to the JMM-led government in the state. The six-month period of President's rule in the state ends July 18.
