A war of words broke out between BJP and Samajwadi Party (SP) members in Parliament on Monday over the VHP’s controversial Ayodhya Yatra.

Launching a scathing on the BJP, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav alleged that the party was trying to fuel communal tension with the “84 kosi parikrama” in complete disregard for the Constitution and court orders.

Both Houses witnessed three adjournments each during the pre-lunch session.

Yadav claimed that the SP office here was attacked after the Uttar Pradesh government’s crackdown on the VHP’s yatra.

Hitting back, Yogi Adityanath of the BJP accused the Uttar Pradesh government of “humiliating saints and insulting the Hindus.” He demanded immediate dismissal of the state government.

Adityanath said the SP rule has seen 30 riots, in which the Hindus have suffered. He also accused Yadav of promoting dynastic rule in the garb of secularism.
