IG 'caught' while trying to copy in LLM exam

A top IPS official was asked to leave the examination centre by the invigilator near Kochi today after he allegedly tried to cheat during the LLM examination.

Inspector General, Thrissur range T J Jose, however, rejected the charge after Television channels in the state aired the story in a big way.

Kerala police sources said Northern Region ADGP Shankar Reddy will investigate the matter.
The invigilator concerned was reportedly not aware that the person in question was an IPS officer.

Jose was allegedly trying to copy answers from the papers in his possession during Mahatma Gandhi (MG) University LLM examination Crime-II paper examination held at St Paul's College, Kalamasseri.

Taking serious note of the incident, MG University has sought a report from the Kalamasseri St. Paul's College Principal.

"We have sought a report from the College authorities," university Vice Chancellor Babu Sebastian told PTI.

Jose will be debarred, if he is found guilty, university sources said.
