India and China on Monday sought to downplay the recent incursion by the Chinese into Ladakh, saying the issue was resolved amicably through a flag meeting.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh told reporters here that the Chinese men went back after a flag meeting, which was called to discuss the issue.

The incident is reported to have taken place on July 25 at the Charding Nilu Nullah junction in the Demchok sector along the Line of Actual Control. An Indian patrolling team was dispatched to the spot and later a team of the China’s People's Liberation Army also reached there.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said in Beijing that the issue was properly resolved through the meeting.
