The day two of the Delhi Assembly commenced on Tuesday with BJP MLAs wearing black clothes and turbans as a mark of protest against alleged corruption and scams of the AAP government.

They also demanded that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resign from the post.

Raising the issue of alleged corruption, BJP MLA Ajay Mahawar alleged that corruption is at its peak in all departments of the Delhi government. He said that Delhi is the first state where a minister has been jailed for seven months, but is still drawing all allowances by being in the cabinet which is unfair. - IANS.

Man attempts to hug Rahul Gandhi during Bhart Jodo Yatra in Punjab's Hoshiarpur

A man rushed towards Rahul Gandhi and tried to hug him during the Bharat Jodo yatra here on Tuesday but was pushed away by Congress leaders accompanying him. However, police said it was not a breach of security.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to outline the political roadmap for the BJP in the run up to a string of state Assembly polls this year and the 2024 Lok Sabha election as the party's national executive gets underway on its second and last day on Tuesday.

Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday said the party during its National Executive Meeting has identified a total of 1.3 lakh "weak booths", adding necessary steps would be taken to strengthen them.

Prasad, addressing a press conference, also said that in the meeting, no discussion on extension of the tenure of party president J.P. Nadda -- which ends this month, was held.

"Calling the victory of BJP in Gujarat 'historic', Nadda during the meeting said Prime Minister Narendra Modi led from the front and others need to learn from him," Prasad said.
