Violence over the Waqf Act in West Bengal, which has left several dead, has sparked a blame game in the state with the BJP and the TMC accusing each other of a conspiracy. The violence has received widespread condemnation and the BJP has claimed that Mamata's appeasement politics is forcing Hindus to flee clash-hit Murshidabad. The saffron party has also called for imposition of AFSPA. Elsehwere, the AIMPLB has announced that it will hold a protest meet against the Waqf Act at the AIMIM headquarters on April 19. Meanwhile preparations are under way for Ambedkar Jayanti, to be celebrated on Monday. Here are the highlights from Sunday.
