Light to moderate rainfall recorded in parts of Delhi, Noida

Parts of Delhi and adjoining Noida received light to moderate spell of rain on Saturday.

Mayur Vihar and Burari were amongst the few places to receive rainfall in Delhi.

Poor rainfall lowers water level in most Jharkhand reservoirs

Amid rainfall deficit across Jharkhand, 56 reservoirs in the state, barring a few, are experiencing a declining water level with only 40 per cent of capacity full, an official said on Saturday.

East, west parts of Rajasthan receive light to moderate rainfall in 24 hours

Several parts of east and west Rajasthan received light to moderate rainfall in the last 24 hrs, the meteorological department said on Saturday.

Light to heavy rainfall occurred in east Rajasthan and light to moderate in the west.

The highest rainfall of 120 mm was recorded in Kachhola of Bhilwara, 110 mm in Sodawas of Alwar, 80 mm in Deeg of Bharatpur, 70 mm in Kota aerodrome, and 60 mm in Nainwa of Bundi and Banasthali.

Various places across the state recorded rainfall ranging from 10 to 50 mm during this period.

MeT department has a forecast for moderate rainfall in Jaipur, Sikar, Jodhpur, Nagaur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Banswara and Rajsamand. (PTI)

Partly cloudy weather, light rain likely in J&K: IMD

The Meteorological (MeT) department on Saturday forecast partly cloudy sky with light rain at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir during next 24 hours.

"Partly cloudy weather with light rain at isolated places is likely during the next 24 hours in J&K", an official of the MeT department said.

Meanwhile, Srinagar recorded 19.7 degrees Cesius, Pahalgam 14.8 and Gulmarg 11.2 degrees as the minimum temperature this morning.

Drass town in Ladakh region clocked 12.1 degrees, Leh 14.3 and Kargil 17.

Jammu registered 24.8 degrees, Katra 22.2, Batote 18.3, Banihal 18.6 and Bhaderwah 19 as the minimum temperature. (IANS)

Respite for Kerala as rains subside

After days of incessant downpour, Kerala on Friday got some respite as rains subsided in many parts but a rise in water levels of various dams in the central and north Kerala districts forced authorities to open few shutters to release excess water. Ten shutters of the Mullaperiyar dam, managed by Tamil Nadu government, were raised by 30 centimetres each by Friday evening as the water level in the 126-year-old reservoir touched over 137 feet.

North Karnataka, coastal region bear the brunt of heavy rain

Heavy rains in the state on Friday left a 13-year-old boy dead in Hassan, besides damaginghundreds of houses and crops in large tracts of agricultural lands.

The downpour threw routine life out of gearin parts of Kalyana Karnataka region, coastal belt and Malnad areas.
