Heavy rains reported in east Rajasthan in last 24 hours: MeT

Heavy rains at isolated places in Jhalawar, Dholpur and Kota districts of east Rajasthan was reported in the last 24 hours, a MeT department spokesperson said.

Maximum temperature was recorded below normal at most places in the state. (PTI)

 76 dead in rain-related incidents in Maharashtra so far this monsoon: Report

Rain-related incidents have claimed the lives of 76 people in Maharashtra during the ongoing monsoon season so far, a report by the state disaster management authorities said on Sunday. Of the total number of deceased, nine persons died on Saturday - four in Wardha district, three in Gadchiroli and one each in Nanded and the coastal Sindhudurg district, it said. As many as 125 animals have perished since June 1 with rains lashing parts of the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in the coastal Konkan region of the state till July 13. Rainfall of 64 mm to 200 mm is expected in the region, the report said. In view of the Met department's prediction, teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been stationed in the costal districts, including state capital Mumbai, it added. (PTI)

At least five pilgrims, including two women, from Andhra Pradesh were reported missing in the cloudburst and flash flood near the holy Amaranth cave in Kashmir, the state government said here on Sunday.

The five pilgrims belonged to different towns in the state and remained "untraced" after the tragedy near the holy cave.

Incessant rain, overflowing rivers maroon Karnataka's Kodagu

Following heavy rain, the Bhagamandala Triveni Sangama river in Kodagu remained inundated. The Bhagamandala-Napoklu road was submerged under water and disrupted movement of vehicles. About half a feet water is flowing on Bhagamandala-Madikeri road. Boat services have been arranged to ferry people across.

Karnataka: Water level in rivers rise due to incessant rain

With the catchment areas experiencing bountiful showers, the water-level in river Nethravathi at Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada has increased drastically and reached 8.5 metres. The water level in the river was 6.3 metres in Bantwal on Saturday morning.

Water levelin the river at Uppinangady has increased as well. The low-lying areas in Panemangalore, Kanchikar Pete, Jakribettu, have been inundated. With the rise in water level in Kumardhara river, water is flowing on Manjeshwara-Subrahmanya road.

The intensity of rain reduced in various parts of DK district on Sunday morning. However, the sky remained overcast.
