An Indian driver lying in a state of coma in Saudi Arabia for nearly two years has finally been repatriated.

Zahid Hussain, a 31-year-old heavy vehicle driver from Bihar, was hit by a car just two months after he arrived in the country and was lying in coma at a local hospital ever since.
The hospital had initially refused to discharge Hussain, saying he was unfit for travel, the Arab News reported.

Jeddah Governor Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah - who was made aware of the incident through the Jeddah Traffic Police - arranged for his repatriation with the help of the Indian Consulate, a move that took nearly four months, it said.

An Indian social worker in Saudi Arabia flew with the victim to the Indian capital on Saturday.
