"Rahul Gandhi addressed the core issues of the country. He spoke from his heart on the Manipur situation. It was straight from the heart. The entire country also feels the same. The central government has completely failed to control the situation, which he has pointed out in his speech," Trinamool Congress MP Sougata Roy told PTI.

Commenting on Amit Shah's speech in Parliament, Roy said the union minister made a "political speech to defend the indefensible".

On the allegation of MPs claiming that their names were mentioned on the proposal moved by AAP MP Raghav Chadha to send the Delhi NCT Amendment Bill to the Select Committee without their consent, AAP MP Raghav Chadha says "The rule book says that any MP can propose the name for the formation of any committee and neither the signature nor the written consent of the person whose name is proposed is required. But a lie was spread that forged signatures were done"

"India had 74 airports in 2014, but now the number stands at 148"

"No waterways in India in 2014. But now the number stands at 111," says Sitharaman.

Sitharaman attacks the then UPA government, says they indulged in family politics, cronyism and corruption.

"Words like 'banega, milega' are not in use anymore. What are the people using these days? 'Ban gaye, mil gaye, aa gaye'. During UPA, people said 'Bijli aayegi', now people say 'Bijli aa gayi'. They said 'gas connection milega', now 'gas connection mil gaya'...They said airport 'banega', now airport 'ban gaya'...," says Nirmala Sitharaman.

"Transformation comes through actual delivery, and not through spoken words. You show dreams to people. We make their dreams a reality. We believe in empowering all and appeasement of none," Nirmala Sitharaman says.

"Our real GDP growth in 2022-23 stood at 7.2 per cent. It is projected to grow at 6.5 per cent in 2023-24. These projections are given by several global agencies, and our own RBI projection is also the same," says Sitharaman.

'Launch karne mein khushi hai, implement karne mein nahi,' says Sitharaman in swipe at the then UPA government over Jan Aushadhi campaign.

Till 2014, there were 7 AIIMS in country, now there are 53: Sitharaman

Opposition sloganeering continues in the Lok Sabha as Sitharaman continues her address to the House.

Our DBT story sets an example for the rest of the world. I recognise the operationalisation of DBT by UPA but only Rs 7,367 crores were transferred in 2013-14. From that amount, DBT transfers have increased 5 times from 2014-15 itself. In the last financial year, Rs 7.16 lakh crores have been transferred through DBT: Sitharaman

"This is an extraordinary unity where it is difficult to understand whether the alliance partners are fighting amongst each other or fighting unitedly," says Union Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman the in Lok Sabha.

As of today, we have booked tomatoes through Kolar mandi - coming to Delhi at Rs 85/kg...We have also initiated imports from Nepal by removing the import restrictions and the first lot of tomatoes from Nepal are likely to reach Varanasi, Kanpur by Friday itself: FM

Rahul Gandhi reaches Parliament

Owaisi asks PM if 'Hindutva is more important than country'

AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi says, "Our Home Minister was talking about 'Quit India' yesterday. I wonder if he gets to know that the word 'Quit India' was coined by a Muslim, he will not use this word. I want to say that the kind of politics you (Central govt) are doing will harm the country. I want to ask the PM if Hindutva is more important than the country."

Tharoor requests LS Speaker to reverse expunction of Rahul's address

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor says, "...They have deleted expressions like 'Murder of Bharat Mata' (from Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's speech) and so on which are not defamatory. The use of the word 'murder' is metaphorical. It is suggesting that by saying the 'Murder of Bharat Mata' it means that the idea of India is being annihilated...What is even more amusing is that the same speech was quoted by BJP speakers like Smriti Irani and it has not been expunged in their speech...We have requested the Speaker to reverse the expunction."

TMC MP Mahua Moitra addresses Lok Sabha on the no-confidence motion.

This is not has-no-confidence-in-govt motion, this is have-confidence-in-India motion, says Mahua Moitra.

Issue in Manipur is that of a hate crime, says Mahua Moitra.

Beg you to change the administrator in Manipur, says Moitra

TMC MP Mahua Moitra says, "We are here to ask the question in our 'tum abhi chup raho' republic where the PM tells a Governor 'chup raho'. We as elected MPs in this House are routinely told 'chup raho'. This motion is to break this code of silence in Manipur. PM Modi will not listen to us, he will come on the last day and give his speech. I don't know what is more unfortunate, our PM refuses to come to the Parliament or that he refuses to go to Manipur."

This no-confidence motion is to break this code of silence on Manipur, the most pressing issue of the day, where we are all supposed to 'raho chup' (keep silent). This is not just a no-confidence-in-government motion, this is a have-confidence-in-India motion :Mahua Moitra in Lok Sabha

"Six thousand five hundred FIRs in three months, which state has seen this? Four thousand houses destroyed, sixty thousand people displaced, which state has seen this?" says TMC MP Mahua Moitra during no-confidence motion debate in Lok Sabha.

Lok Sabha MP Congress leader Hibi Eden says, "Churachandpur is cut off from the rest of Manipur, 290 tribal villages have been burned in the state, this is a institutional attack on the minorities of this country, against Christians, Modi hai toh mumkin hai."

Meanwhile, ruckus and sloganeering has marred Rajya Sabha proceedings.

Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till tomorrow amid ruckus and sloganeering by the Opposition.

"Bahumat ki Bahubali aapke paas hai, lekin humein kyun yeh no-confidence motion laana pade usko thoda samjane ki koshish karte hai," says Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

Why is PM so rigid, asks Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

Modi arrives in Lok Sabha amid Adhir Ranjan's address

PM Modi should keep his 'mann ki baat' on Manipur forward, says Adhir Ranjan in Lok Sabha.

Congress MP Adhir Ranjan says, "The power of no-confidence motion has brought the Prime Minister in the Parliament today. None of us were thinking about this no-confidence motion. We were only demanding that PM Modi should come to the Parliament and speak on the Manipur issue. We were not demanding any BJP member to come to the Parliament, we were only demanding our PM to come."

Uproar in Lok Sabha after Congress's Adhir Ranjan comments on PM Modi.

Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury says, "Jab Dhritrashtra andhe the, tab Droupadi ka vastra haran hua tha, aaj bhi raja andhe baithe hai... Manipur aur Hastinapur mein koi farq nahi hai."

Oppn using Manipur for political gains: Anurag Thakur

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi demands expunction of Adhir Ranjan's remarks. "... Prime Minister is a high authority. This should be expunged and he should apologise."

BJP's Scindia attacked the Opposition saying that it was Amit Shah who paid visit to violence-hit Manipur, but none of the Opposition leaders went there.

The 'Seven Sisters' were the 'Seven neglected Sisters' during UPA regime, says Scindia.

"Now, we are the fifth largest economy. During the UPA's decades-long regime, India came up from 12th to 10th position only. But under NDA, India became fifth largest economy in last nine years": Scindia

"They (Congress) say they will bring 'mohabbat ki dukan'. But their dukan only has corruption and arrogance. Dukan ka naam badla hai, par samaan wohi hai," Scindia said.

By bringing a no-confidence motion against Modi govt, the opposition has shown 'overconfidence of stupidity', says BJP MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore

Rathore attacks the Opposition on alleged cases of rapes in Rajasthan.

"I was at the 2008 Beijing Olympics (in China). We came to know that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are coming to meet us. They didn't come to meet us. They met the Communist Party of China. They should be tried for treason," says BJP's Rathore.

"Chhattisgarh has become ATM for Congress. Rapes, corruption and scams have become a common thing in the state," says BJP leader Vijay Baghel.

"The BJP has not done anything for the backward class. This is a capitalist govt which only helps the rich," says JD(U) in the LS.

AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal appealed politicians not to use religion for politics. He also charged that justice was served to only side in regard to the Haryana violence.

PM Modi arrived at the Lok Sabha to reply to the no-trust motion.

The Opposition's no-confidence motion has always proven to be lucky for us, Modi says.

"There have been many important bills that were discussed in the Parliament. But the opposition kept opposing all the bills, because they only understand politics now," says Modi.

"The opposition through their acts have proved that party is always bigger than the country for them."

"The best part of this match was that the fielding was set by the opposition, but all the fours & sixes were hit from our side," says Modi.

PM targets Congress asking why they did not give enough chance to Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to speak in the House.

The PM recalls the earlier two Lok Sabha election results stressing that the people of the country have trust on the NDA.

"Some are trying to defame India, but the world has now seen the true picture of India."

"Today, India is seeing rapid rise of startups and exports. Today, the poor can dream of fulfilling their dreams."

The WHO has said that 4 lakh people's lives are being saved through Jal Jeevan mission, PM says.

"Distrust and arrogance have now got into their blood," Modi targets Oppn.

The Oppn's favourite slogan is 'Modi teri kabre khudegi', says Modi.

"They have a secret blessing. Whenever they want something bad to happen to someone, only good happens to that person. I am the best example to prove this point," says Modi.

"The Oppn spoke negatively about India's economy, HAL and LIC. All these three sectors have seen massive rise, again proving my point of them having a secret blessing," PM said.

"I had said earlier that India would become world's third largest economy in NDA's third term. As an Oppn, it should have asked the govt about the roadmap or could have given some suggestions to achieve it. But what they said is - 'It would anyway have happened'. I think this lethargic approach had kept India behind all these years"

The nation now believes that in 2028, when you would bring no-trust motion against us, India would have already become the third largest economy, says Modi.

Congress does not have trust on India, its people. But I must tell you, it is the people of India who have no confidence in Congress, says PM as the Opposition raised slogans on Manipur.

"The Opposition's problem is in order to keep themselves relevant, they had to take NDA's support. And in the process, they broke India as well into pieces - I.N.D.I.A"

"Congress has nothing in original. From its poll symbol to ideologies, everything is stolen."

"Everyone in I.N.D.I.A alliance wants to become PM."

There was a time when birthday cakes of politicians were cut on planes; now vaccines are sent on planes: PM's dig at Congress.

Targeting Rahul Gandhi, who had said that Raavan was killed by his arrogance, Modi said that Rahul was right and it is proved by the current political condition of the Congress.

"I understand Cong's problem. They keep launching a failed product, and it keeps failing everytime," Modi's sly dig at Rahul.

"Congress can never give such a guarantee. It is only Modi who can guarantee that we will make India the third largest economy in our third term."

Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday spoke on Manipur in details. He expressed all the concern and also tried to ensure Manipur that a solution would be thought about. But the Opposition still tried to do politics over it.

"The crimes in Manipur, especially against women, is extremely serious. The Centre and the state govt is trying to bring out a solution. Things will soon be normal again. I want to tell the sisters and mothers of Manipur that the country is with you. We will together face this challenge. I am assuring the people of Manipur that the state will soon bounce back to normalcy and we will leave no stone unturned in this regard," Modi said.

"On March 5, 1966, Congress launched an attack on innocent people in Mizoram through the air force, says Modi. The State till date remembers that day with tears. Congress had hid this fact from the people. Indira Gandhi was the PM at that time," says Modi.

"Lohia had accused Nehru of deliberately not doing anything for the development of the North East."

"The Congress always had a step-motherly attitude towards the North East. But, for us, Northeast is our 'jigad ka tukda': Modi

"It is being presented that the situation in Manipur turned hostile just now. I must tell you, it is Congress which is responsible for the hostile situation in Manipur."

"Manipur earlier used to be known for blockades. But now North East is growing rapidly. First time, goods train reached Manipur. First time, Manipur will have a sports university. First time, so many people from NE were honoured with Padma awards."

'Sabka ka saath, sakba vikas' is not just a slogan for us, it is a commitment for us: Modi

"I hope if they come up with a no-confidence motion again, it would do some homework and be a little prepared. I appeal to them to at least stay relevant as an Opposition," PM's jibe at Congress.

Several opposition MPs walked out of the Parliament Modi was defending his record at the climax of a three-day no-confidence debate, television images showed. Rahul Gandhi was among the walkouts, broadcasters said.
