Reports said the premier anti-terror probe agency sleuths accompanied by police and CRPF personnel, carried out separate raids at various locations in Shopian district of south Kashmir, Baramulla in north Kashmir as well some places in Jammu.

The raids were continuing till this report was being filed. The locations raided included residential premises of hybrid terrorists and overground workers (OGWs) linked to the case, sources said. The raids were conducted days after the NIA arrested an accused in the Pakistan-backed terrorism case involving the delivery of weapons through drones to militants in Kashmir.

On November 27, a team of the NIA had arrested 22-year-old Zakir Hussain from Kathua district of Jammu. He was the eight accused to be arrested in the case registered by the NIA on July 30 last year after taking over the case from J&K Police.

One of the seven accused arrested earlier had died due to cardiac arrest while in judicial custody while two Pakistan-based terror operatives are absconding.

Since early 2017, the NIA has been continuously carrying out raids in Kashmir in connection with alleged terror funding, fidayeen (suicide) attack cases and the agency has arrested and questioned dozens of people in the last more than four years.
