People often quote the old adage "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" to describe a woman's anger on being betrayed by her significant other.
Whether this immense rage is good or bad is still under contention, however, for the authorities in India, a woman's fury has aided them in tracking and uncovering the white-collar terror network.
Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah stated via "chatter on the streets", the Delhi terror plot was uncovered because a jilted young girl complained to the police about her former boyfriend.
Speaking at the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit, Abdullah was talking about being kept out of the loop regarding major security discussions.
Abdullah stated that a government "can't operate in silos". He claimed that he read about the Delhi blast in newspapers.
"I read about the Delhi blast in newspaper. I did not know who carried out the attack... (or) how the investigation is proceeding," the chief minister said.
The chief minister then went on and talked about an unofficial anecdote that he only came to know about via "chatter on the streets". He said that the Delhi plot was uncovered because a jilted young girl complained to the police about her former boyfriend, leading them to a network that culminated in tracking a doctor involved in the conspiracy.
"This is the sort of thing that any other chief minister would hear officially. I hear it because there are sort of chatters on the streets. The Union territory model does not work," he said.
On November 10, 2025, a blast ripped through a car near the Red Fort in Delhi claiming the lives of 15 people and injuring many more.
Upon investigation, the authorities have uncovered a white-collar terror module involving several doctors from across the country.
