Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s estranged wife Jashodaben Modi has filed an appeal with the RTI commissioner to find out about the security protocol and her entitlements as PM’s wife.
She also filed an RTI application with Mehsana police in November 2014 asking for details of her security following Modi’s elevation as Prime Minister.
She had sought to know her entitlements, besides duties of men deployed for her security and whose orders did they travel on government vehicles when she commutes by public transport.
Police had then rejected her appeal for information saying the details she sought fall under the preview of local intelligence insulated from RTI by the Gujarat government.
Jashodaben’s brother Ashok Modi confirmed that she filed an RTI query with the commissioner since she did not get satisfactory answers for her earlier appeal.
Her lawyer Sandip Modi said Jashodaben’s second appeal on Saturday was prompted by unsatisfactory answers for her first appeal filed with Mehsana Police Superintendent of
Police.
Sources said the Information Commissioner’s office has told her that it would study her appeal and try providing answers in three month’s time.
