Amid controversy over implementation of NEET, Jammu and Kashmir will conduct a fresh entrance test for admission to MBBS and BDS in medical colleges in July.

Students are required to fill fresh applications and pay 50% of what they were charged for the JKCET 2016.

The J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) on Thursday said that aspirants will need to sit for a fresh entrance examination to be held in July. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Minister of ARI and Training, Sajjad Gani Lone. Officials in BOPEE said that a notification for the exams will be issued within a week. “Modalities are being worked out and students will be informed about it accordingly,” a BOPEE official said.
