Justice J S Khehar was at his emotional best on Friday in the Supreme Court before pronouncing the much-awaited verdict on validity of the NJAC and profusely thanked legal luminaries for their assistance.
“Let me thank you all for the outstanding assistance from each one of you. Neither it is a lip service for me as I have recorded this in the order also,” Justice Khehar said on behalf of the five-judge bench.
He has penned his gratitude in the judgment which reads: “Before parting with the order, I would like to record my appreciation for the ablest assistance rendered to us, by the learned counsel who addressed us from both sides. I would also like to extend my deepest sense of appreciation to all the assisting counsel, who had obviously whole heartedly devoted their time and energy in the preparation of the case, and in instructing the arguing counsel.”
Justice Khehar, who heard the high-pitched arguments in the case spreading over 31 days praised his colleagues on the bench.
