100-day mission for water supply in schools

The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) department will launch a 100-day campaign to address complaints of drinking water and water supply in toilets of schools in the state.

According to RDPR Minister K S Eshwarappa, the campaign 'Jal Jeevan Mission' aims at providing tap water connections for drinking, cooking and other purposes at rural schools and anganwadis.

He told the Assembly that the Centre had released enough funds for works under the Mission. Directions are issued to all zilla and taluk panchayats to install plastic water tanks on the school premises , Eshwarappa said.
