12 children in hospital for gastroenteritis

The children were suffering from vomiting and diarrhoea. Out of the 12 children who were indisposed, ten were admitted to the general hospital in Mysore and two in the town’s general hospital.

The reason for the outbreak of gastroenteritis in the village is still not known. Tahsildar V R Shylaja visited the village and gathered information.

“In every street of the village a 12 year old has suffered vomiting and loose motion.
However, after this incident no case has been reported so far. A team of doctors is camping in the village with all facilities. Directions have been given to clean water storing facilities and the roads. All steps have been taken to control the spread of gastroenteritis,” said incharge taluk health officer Dr  S C Mahadevaswami.
